NBA Team Ratings

What the number means

A team at +6.0 would beat an average NBA team by about six points on a neutral court. Two teams' ratings apart, plus home court, is about the margin our model starts from.

Team and players

The rating moves after every game with the score, and the players expected to play count with their own values: a star's absence lowers it before the game.

Pace

Possessions per game against an average opponent: the fastest teams play more possessions, so more points on both sides.
