Privacy policy

Last updated 10 October 2026

You can read OptimaGoal without an account. If you create one, we process the data described below to run your account and your membership. We have no advertising and we do not set cookies. To see how the site is used, we count visits with Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics service that uses no cookies and does not store your IP address.

Visit statistics (Umami)

When you open a page, a small script from Umami Cloud sends us the address of the page, the page that linked to it, your browser, operating system and device type, your screen size, your language and your approximate location (country, region and city), which is worked out from your IP address. The IP address itself is not stored. To count unique visitors, Umami derives an anonymous identifier from your IP address and browser combined with a secret value that changes every month, so visits cannot be linked across months or to you. No cookie or other data is stored on your device.

We only see totals, such as page views and visitors per country; they are not used for advertising and are not shared with anyone. Umami Software, Inc. processes this data for us on servers in the European Union and keeps it for six months. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Umami records nothing when your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal; ad and content blockers usually block it as well.

Accounts

To create an account you give us your email address and a password, or you sign in with Google. We store your email address, your password in hashed form (we never see it), how you signed in, the language you signed up in, and when the account was created and last used. If you sign in with Google, Google also passes us the name and profile picture of your Google account; we do not use them.

We use this data only to run your account and your membership, which is the contract between us (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Supabase, Inc. stores it for us on servers in the European Union (Ireland). We keep it until you ask us to delete your account: write to us at optimagoal@gmail.com and we delete it within 30 days, apart from what the law requires us to keep.

While you are signed in, your browser keeps your session in its local storage so that you stay signed in from page to page. It is needed for the account to work, is not used for tracking and is removed when you sign out.

Sign in with Google

If you choose to sign in with Google, Google learns that you signed in to OptimaGoal. Google processes this under its own privacy policy.

Emails

We send emails only about your account: to confirm your address, to reset your password and about your membership. Resend, Inc. sends them for us. We send no newsletters and no advertising.

Membership and payments (Whop)

Memberships are sold and billed by Whop, Inc., a company based in the United States. You pay on Whop's checkout, and Whop processes your payment details under its own privacy policy; we never see your card details. Whop tells us the status of your membership, its plan and renewal date, the email address of your Whop account and a link where you can manage it, so that we can show you the members' content.

Server logs

The site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify processes technical data needed to deliver pages and protect the service, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. Netlify handles this data under its own privacy policy.

Images, fonts and scripts

Club crests, our other images, the fonts and the small scripts that show times in your time zone and power the search are served from our own site. The one exception is the small picture beside a news item, which your browser loads from the publisher of that story (for example BBC Sport or The Guardian): like any website, the publisher's server sees your IP address and browser, and its own privacy policy applies. We send it no referrer, so it is not told which of our pages you are reading. Apart from these pictures, the Umami script and, when you use your account, our account service (Supabase), your browser does not contact any third party when you read our pages.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it or to receive it in a portable form, and you can object to its use. You can also complain to a data protection authority.

Links to other websites take you to services with their own privacy policies.

If we change how we process personal data, we will update this page first; the date above shows the latest version.
